Babysense Baby Video Monitor features 2.4GHz FHSS (Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum) secure wireless transmission technology. The monitor provides safe and secure Point to Point digital encryption wireless transmission. The unit operates in 2400-2480 MHz auto tuned frequency, reducing the risk of interference with any other electronic device working in its vicinity.
For best results it is suggested that there should be distance of at least 3 feet between camera unit, parent unit and any other electronic device in your house for smooth reception of audio and video signals.
Operating time with the battery fully charged (Parent Unit):
– With ECO MODE on (power saving mode): up to 12 hours.
– With screen on: up to 8 hours.
* Please note, that the above specified values may vary depending on the usage conditions (e.g. how often the monitor goes on and off in the ECO MODE, etc.).

* Please note, that it takes up to 8 hours to fully charge the battery.

You can pair up to 4 cameras to one parent unit. The monitor is supplied with 1 or 2 cameras (depending on the model you purchase). You can buy additional add-on cameras and pair them to the same parent unit.
In the menu, go to the camera setting and choose the camera position (1-4) which is free. A free position will have no star indicated next to it – a star means that there is already a camera paired to this position. When choosing a free position, it will start blinking. Then, in the back of the new camera, press and hold the “PAIR” button until the connection is established. That’s all. DO NOT use this menu option to switch between the paired cameras as it is intended for pairing purposes only. Instead use the OK button on your parent unit.
To switch between the paired cameras, please use the OK button on the parent unit. When pressing the OK button, it will switch the view to the next paired camera. On the top of the LCD display you will see the number of the camera it is connected to.

You can also chose the SCAN (loop) mode and each paired camera will be displayed on the screen for approx. 10 seconds and then the screen will automatically change to the next paired camera. The loop mode is activated between the last paired camera and the first one. So just press the OK button several times until you will see the loop sign on the top of the LCD screen.

Yes. You can chose the SCAN (loop) mode and each paired camera will be displayed on the screen for 10 seconds and then the screen will automatically change to the next paired camera. The loop mode is activated between the last paired camera and the first one. So just press the OK button several times until you will see the loop sign on the top of the LCD screen.
Yes. In the loop mode, the monitor will automatically switch between the paired cameras every 10 seconds. It means that it will connect to each camera for 10 seconds (and will transmit sound and video from each camera) and then switch to the next paired one.
Yes. The monitor will work with 110 and 220V.
The supplied power adapter specifications:
Input: 100-240V – 50/60Hz, 200mA Max.
Output: 5.0V, 600mA

There is no way to connect the camera to your phone as it is not a Wi-Fi / IP camera but 2.4GHz technology. So it can only be paired to the parent unit supplied. Your privacy is very important to us and this monitor cannot be hacked.
Babysense Video Monitor features a long range – 900 feet in open space. The range for all video monitors is always measured in open space as each place of use differs and has different environmental conditions influencing the actual range.
Please take into account that objects that block line-of-sight between the transmitter (camera) and the receiver (Parent Unit), may reduce the actual range. Such objects could be: any large metal object, like a refrigerator, a mirror, a filling cabinet, metallic doors or reinforced concrete between the baby and parent unit.
The signal strength may also be reduced by other solid structures, like walls, or by radio or electrical equipment, such as cordless or mobile phones, fluorescent lights, TV, computers or dimmer switches. In order to minimize the environmental influences it is recommended to keep the baby monitor (baby and parent units) at least 3 feet away from these types of products.
There might be some interference with other 2.4GHz devices, such as your mobile or portable computer, which are connected to your home WiFi network and are located very close to the parent or baby units.
In order to avoid such interference issues, it is always recommended to keep such devices at least 3 feet away from the monitor. In many cases it is even enough to move your mobile device about 8-10 inches away from the monitor and this should solve the problem.
Camera unit can be moved manually.
The monitor features a Digital Zoom & Pan/Tilt feature. Zooming in, allows you to Pan/Tilt the image from the remote Parent Unit using the arrow keys.
The camera (Baby Unit) is powered from an AC source, so it has to be plugged in.
The receiver (Parent Unit) has a built-in Li-ion rechargeable battery, so you can use it anywhere within the operating range (up to 900 feet in open space).
Yes, the camera unit features a wall mounting option. The monitor is supplied with a wall mounting set.
The handheld (Parent Unit) is fully operational when plugged in and charging.
This mode allows you to control the sound level from your baby’s room to automatically activate the sound and video transmission on your Parent Unit. When using the ECO function, the sound and video transmission will stop (standby mode) if the Baby Unit does not register any sound within 30 seconds. While in standby mode, the LCD screen turns off. Once the Baby Unit registers a sound, louder than the set sensitivity level, it will automatically start transmitting the signal (sound and video) to the Parent Unit and the LCD screen will turn on.
Note: ECO default setting is OFF in the supplied product.
Note:
ECO-LOW means Low sensitivity level, requiring higher sound level to reactivate the transmission.
ECO-MID means Medium sensitivity level, requiring medium sound level to reactivate the transmission.
ECO-HIGH means High sensitivity level, requiring low sound level to reactivate the transmission.
OFF means Constant transmission – no standby mode.
Note: When ECO function is on, a ECO indicator will be displayed on top of the LCD screen.
Note: To view a video signal on your parent unit when ECO function is on, briefly press the power key.
More details are provided in the user guide.
Yes, the ECO mode will work with two cameras paired, but only when it is set to a specific camera. When the monitor is on the loop setting it will not go into standby mode (ECO), as it constantly switches between the paired cameras.
If you want to use the loop setting, but don’t want the screen to be ON all the time, you can use the “Audio Only” setting. Press briefly on the Power ON/OFF button, which will turn the display off but will keep Audio on. In such a case, the monitor will continue switching between the cameras and you will be able to hear sounds from each camera in an interval of 10 seconds.
Yes, the monitor features an “Audio Only” mode. To activate it, please press briefly on the Power ON/OFF button, which will turn the display off but will keep Audio on. In this mode, you will be able to hear sounds from your baby’s room but the video will not disturb you during the night hours. Press briefly on the Power ON/OFF button again to resume the video transmission.
The camera has no ON/OFF switch. If for some reason you would need to turn it off, it can be easily unplugged. When the parent unit if off, the camera is in a standby mode and will not transmit. You can easily start using the monitor by turning the parent unit on without the need to go each time to baby’s room for activating the camera.

Babysense 7 and 5s FAQ’s

Why Babysense?2017-01-06T13:55:35+00:00

Babysense was the first of the “new age” movement monitors. It was developed and patented in Israel in 1991 and is the most highly experienced monitor. All derivations which are available today on the market are a result of this breakthrough in development.

Even Super-Mom needs to sleep well. No caregiver can watch over the infant at all times. Babysense is an unique safety monitoring system that increases a caregiver’s sense of comfort and provides them with piece of mind knowing their infant is being constantly monitored.

Unlike other monitoring devices, only Babysense will not reset. Once the alarm is triggered, it can be stopped only by the parents by switching the Babysense monitor off. Recovery of movement can’t stop the alarm. This ensures that even a single “non-movement” episode will alert the parents.

Babysense is versatile, portable and can be taken anywhere without restriction as it is operated on 4 AA batteries with an approximate life of 6-8 months.
Babysense does not replace parent or caregiver. It is an attention-calling device, a parent’s or caregiver’s aid. It cannot solve all problems, it cannot actively take action. It can only call out attention if it registers a respiratory distress. This may provide critical time to intervene.

Is it safe?2016-08-30T22:26:05+00:00

The Babysense monitor operates on 4 AA batteries so there are no exposed extension cords or wires which can pose a safety hazard. Babysense carries complete CE registration as a Class II Medical Device. Our first commitment is to your infant’s safety  and we made the unit simple, safe to use, and affordable for home use. Babysense monitors are reliably used in hundreds of hospitals worldwide.

Why two sensor pads?2016-08-30T22:25:40+00:00

Babysense is marketed with two large highly sensitive sensor pads. Two sensor pads cover the entire area of a standard sized crib or cot and ensure lower risk for “false alarms”. When using in hospitals or at home for infants not yet able to crawl, one sensor pad can be used.

When infant begins to move around and is able to move onto areas not covered by the sensor pad, the second pad must be connected.

How does the Babysense monitor work?2017-01-06T13:55:35+00:00

Babysense is more than just a commonly known MOVEMENT MONITOR!

All other devices are only simple movement monitoring devices. Their alarm sounds if movement isn’t sensed after 20 seconds. Thus caregivers will not be notified about potential threats before the actual cessation of movement.

Babysenses’ algorithms register the actual rate of movement, not only its presence but also its absence. Babysense alarms when no micro-movement is detected for more than 20 seconds or if the movement rate slows to less than 10 movements per minute. Caregivers can be alerted about a potential threat before it strikes, giving critical time to intervene.

Also, unlike other monitoring devices, only Babysense will not reset. Once the alarm is triggered, it can be stopped only by switching the Babysense monitor off. Recovery of movement can’t stop the alarm. This ensures that even a single “non-movement” episode will alert the parents.

Why is the Babysense monitor only operated on batteries?2017-01-06T13:55:35+00:00

Your infant’s safety comes first – Babysense is not connected to the power mains, and all cords are passive. The control unit hangs on infants’ crib/cot side, away from reach at all times, with no need to be close to an electrical outlet.

Babysense is versatile, portable and can be taken anywhere without restriction as it is operated on 4 AA batteries with an approximate life of 6-8 months.

Is there a restriction on the type thickness of the mattress?2016-08-30T22:23:19+00:00

Babysense is designed to work optimally with most mattresses that are standard for infant cribs.  In foam or spring mattresses there is no thickness restriction.  If using straw stuffed mattresses, ideally, the thickness must be under 4 inches (10cm.). We do not recommend using memory foam mattresses because they will reduce the amount of movements that can be monitored.

Can we use Babysense in cribs, bassinets, travel cots?2017-01-06T13:55:35+00:00

Yes!

Your Babysense monitor is extremely portable and can be used with most bed types as long as the base is rigid and a suitable mattress is used.
We recommend, for all bed types, that a plywood base of a minimum of 3/8 inch thickness be utilized to support the sensor pads.

Should baby lie directly on the sensor pads?2016-08-30T22:22:18+00:00

NO!

Babysense sensor pads are placed under the mattress and have no direct contact with the infant.
For ensuring optimum sensitivity – infant should be placed on the mattress over the area covered by the sensor pad/s.

Can we use Babysense for twins?2016-08-30T22:21:42+00:00

No!

In order to insure safe and accurate monitoring of your infants, you will need to have babies in separate cribs/cots, each with its own Babysense monitor.

Can we travel with Babysense?2016-08-30T22:21:07+00:00

Absolutely, since the unit is activated on batteries, there is no dependence on voltage or electrical power supply. It is important to do a routine testing of the device in a new setup to avoid any disturbance to the sensors.

Due to the extreme sensitivity of Babysense, it may be influenced by vibrations caused by fans, wind, a/c, vehicle movements and so forth. Vibrating household sources (washing machine, loud music, train) may also be picked up by the movement sensor on a similar level to that of slight movements, thus preventing or delaying alarm activation.

Until what age is Babysense recommended?2016-08-30T22:20:42+00:00

Babysense is recommended until 1 year of age and cannot be used for children or adults.

Can Babysense be used again?2017-01-06T13:55:35+00:00

Babysense can be stored in a dry place, preferably packed in its original box, without batteries and without external pressure on the sensor pads. It can be used again when the time comes for the next baby, but we strongly recommend checking the stability of the sensor pads in our service laboratory, or replacing the sensor pads every two years .  You can contact us directly at 877-780-3033 for more information.

Can you recommend any operating tips?2016-08-30T22:19:54+00:00
  • Always insert 4 AA NEW alkaline batteries.
  • When monitor is in use, do not attach crib mobile or other moving toy to infant’s bed/crib/cot (they can easily be mounted on the wall over the crib).
  • Do not put any additional infant or pet in the bed.
  • Keep the sensor pads away from source of heat.
  • Wrap sensor cord around crib posts and OUT OF REACH OF BABY to avoid danger of loose cords.
  • Bed base should be rigid (plywood) to ensure the sensor pad and mattress are tightly pressed together.
  • When not in use over long periods, always remove batteries from the device and store in a dry shaded place.
  • Be aware of environmental movements within the room as they may affect the unit.
  • Due to the extreme sensitivity of Babysense, it may be influenced by vibrations caused by fans, wind, a/c, vehicle movements and so forth. Vibrating household sources (washing machine, loud music, train) may also be picked up by the movement sensor on a similar level to that of slight movements, thus preventing or delaying alarm activation.

Petite Clip FAQ’s

Petite Clip is completely portable and can be used almost anywhere baby may fall asleep. It is clipped to baby’s diaper so it will go wherever baby goes. Petite Clip is battery operated, does not require any cords, cables or mains connections. IMPORTANT: Use the monitor only when baby is in a motionless area. Do not use in car seat, stroller, swing or mobile carrier while they are moving, as their motion negates the functionality of the monitor.
The device should remain in good contact with baby’s tummy throughout the monitoring period. A properly fitted diaper is essential for the proper function of your Petite Clip. See “Fitting your monitor” in the User Guide. Petite Clip can also be used clipped onto the waistband of elasticated pants and on a thin layer of clothing separating the sensor from the skin, as long as the movement sensor is snugly fitted in the baby’s tummy area. When fitting on baby’s clothing (over the diaper) set the device to “Sensitive Mode”.
When clipped on the front of baby’s diaper, the sensor will rest softly on baby’s tummy so it can detect even the slightest of movements. Babysense Petite Clip constantly monitors baby’s movements and activates a gentle vibrating stimulation if no tummy movement is detected at all for a period of 15 seconds. In some cases, such tactile stimulation is enough to reassert baby’s movement, and in this case Petite Clip will revert to monitoring mode. If no further movement is detected for another 5 seconds, a sound and visual alarm is activated to alert a caretaker.
Babysense 5s is an under the mattress movement monitoring system best suited for use in cribs, bassinets and travel cots with a firm base. The 5s is portable as it runs strictly on batteries and has no mains connections. The Petite Clip takes this portability to a new level. Petite Clip attaches to the front of baby’s diaper so baby’s tummy movements are being constantly monitored practically anywhere they fall asleep.
Yes. The Petite Clip is designed for baby’s safety and for your peace of mind. It is battery operated so has no cords, cables or mains connections to potentially harm baby. Petite Clip does not transmit or receive any electromagnetic waves so you can be assured baby is safe.
No. Petite Clip is a baby care aid, not a medical device. It is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention or monitoring of a disease or handicap. Petite Clip does not replace responsible and proper adult supervision of your baby.
Petite Clip is recommended for healthy infants, ages 0 – 12 months.
Health organizations worldwide recommend always laying baby on their back, as part of a safe sleep environment. Should baby roll over on their tummy the Petite Clip will still be in touch with their tummy and will detect their movements. The Petite Clip can be positioned off to one side of baby’s diaper for more comfortable sleeping should they roll over onto their tummy. The monitor must be positioned so that it can still detect tummy movements. In the instance of babies who may roll onto their tummies, be sure to set the monitor on “Sensitive Mode”. Because the alarm is contained within the monitor itself, the sound may be muffled if it is underneath baby. In this instance an audio monitor might be necessary.
Yes. Petite Clip will work on cloth diapers as long as the sensor located on the clip stays in close contact with baby’s tummy. See “Fitting your monitor” in the User Guide.
Yes. When you are no longer using your Petite Clip, always store the product safely to avoid damage. We recommend removing the battery and storing in a dry shaded place. Do not place heavy objects on the monitor and avoid shocks. If you choose to reuse the monitor again ensure you read all the instructions and test the product carefully in accordance with user instructions. See “Daily Performance Test” in the User Guide.
No. It is a Non Rechargeable Battery. DO NOT CHARGE IT! The Petite Clip SHOULD ONLY BE USED with the primary lithium battery SAFT LS 14250 (3.6V, 1.2 AHR Battery) as included in the package.
To replace the battery, follow the instructions on our website: www.babysense.co.it/petite
Petite Clip is designed to pick up only the tummy movements of the baby it is clipped to. However, if there are external movements where baby is sleeping, those movements could potentially negate the functionality of the monitor.
